In light of current trends of suicide we all have our own opinions.  But do we ever think of the ones left behind after the suicide aftermath?  Not usually.  What we fail to realize is that the ones left behind, the ones that loved that person were prisoners in a horrible and frightening war.  What am I talking about?  The victim worked daily to reassure, encourage, and love that person.  They went through days and hours of despair, fear, and loneliness.  They rarely know of anyone they can share these feelings with, but want to so badly.  They hide in waiting for the next low part of their loved ones life, standing up try with all their might to fight off that dark place.

There is always help!  There is always an answer!  Reaching out and asking for help is the first step!

If you are afraid or don't know where to start ask me!

Do you know what this means?

Many of us go through our daily routine feeling a victim to our work, our family, our choices.  However we are only victim to our own negative thoughts.  I know.... I know.... you don't want to hear this, but look at it this way.  If you feel disappointed with your current situation and you CHOOSE to only look at the negatives, then negative is what you will get.  However, if you try to look through the dark clouds of your situation and find a silver lining....or something....just one thing to be grateful for and hold onto that, then your feeding the good.

http://www.home-storage-solutions-101.com/how-to-get-organized.html

So here is another great resource for those that dread getting organized.  Maybe your not sure how or where to start.  Or maybe you have so much mess that you have an anxiety attach whenever you tell yourself "I should get this done!"  Dangerous words as when a person uses the words should or could.  These words instill guilt and usually bring about negative results.

There are many great things I can say about this site, to many to mention.  What I really like are the print off forms to help one organize.  Easy to use!  They have a 52 week "Get Organized" challenge also which breaks down the process to baby steps.  If this is something you would like to do you simply sign up with an email address and they send an email each week with the task to be worked.

Here is a GOOD little book I encourage everyone to read.  This should take no more than an hour, but just a great resource of hope.  You can find this at your local library or you can buy online or from your local book store.  Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors.  He is one of the best spoken authors I have ever found.  He speaks in a simplicity that uses real life examples.  Anything of his you may read you will most likely enjoy.

http://www.universityfamilyclinic.com/

Here is another useful resource I have also used here in Salt Lake City.  This is a nice little clinic up on the east side  where you can visit the doctor for only $45 Cash payment.  They also accept most medical insurances and offer discount prescription cards.  They offer Walk in Hours of 12-6 PM  Tues-Thur, Sat-Sun.   YES I said SUNDAY!  No need to go to an emergency room for that sore throat or sinus infection.  They also accept credit/debit cards.

https://www.modestneeds.org/index.asp

Here is a site I have kept my eye on from the beginning or their organization.  This is a really neat place where someone in need for say new eyeglasses, money for medical tests, a tire repair, or money to buy a new suit for interviews can go for help.  On this site you can complete a small application and explain your needs.  It is then up to the public to determine this need and donate towards your need.

I personally have never used it, but after 12 years of service I feel they are a great service.  I encourage you to try them if there is something you are really in need of and cannot afford on your own.  We all go through tough times.

"Modest Needs is a national nonprofit empowering members of the general public to make small, emergency grants to low-income workers who are at risk of slipping into poverty."

Since 2002, Modest Needs' donors have stopped the cycle of poverty for 12,093 hard-working individuals and families that conventional philanthropy otherwise had forgotten.
OurPrayer
http://www.guideposts.org/ourprayer

How many times do we struggle privately wanting to speak to someone.  Chances are we do this a little everyday.  And sometimes you need some encouragement, which could be an inspiring story, bible verse, or prayer.  Though you may belong to a local religious denomination that doesn't mean they have to be your only source.  What I love about this site is that you can request prayer, call a live person to pray with you, or chat live with a volunteer who will pray for/with you.

It does not matter what the issue.  Maybe you want to give praise for answered prayer or maybe pray for others.  This is somewhere you can do this.  There is no other power like prayer!  Nothing compares!  You don't have to be a believer but having a little faith in something other than yourself goes a long way.

OurPrayer Promise

"For over sixty years, OurPrayer Ministry has prayed for millions of people, believing that God answers prayer. Rest assured, we handle your prayer request with care. It is confidential, free, and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

http://parkwaydentalhelper.com/

Here is another great resource if you have economical dental needs.  This dentist is located just an hour east of Spanish Fork, UT.  We have used them for three years now for extensive dental work and they are the best dentist office we have ever found.  They are honest, upfront, and offer resonable fees for what they offer.  Due to having their own dental lab, they can offer very low prices on major dental work like dentures, implants, bridges, etc.

They do not accept discount plans like dentalselect.com .  But they do bill ANY insurance plan.  We also adopted a supplemental dental plan for approximately $25 per month.  This has proven to be a very good way to keep dental costs down.  Going through Assurant, which is like Aflac saves a lot of money that would otherwise be paid out of pocket.

I encourage you to give them a call.  Because they are so busy it can take up to 6 weeks to get an appt.  I will also post local dentist on here for emergency services soon, but for now and because of personal experience I strongly suggest Parkway Dental in Helper.

"CRISIS NURSERY"

One morning when I was driving home from work I was listening to Country Joe on the radio.  He does weekly interviews of local helpful organizations that are there for the public.  This is not charity, but for people who just need a little help sometimes.  The Crisis Nursery was one that I felt was very important, doesn't matter your income, race, or reason.  Sometimes you just need a break from your children or grand children.  Please do not hesitate to call, there is no shame in needing a break.

"Happi To Help"

I am not sure if this site will go anywhere, but I feel intrigued to try.  I am a recent graduate with a BS in Psychology.  Though my professional background was always focused on Business, in 2010 I had an opportunity to work with teen girls in a therapeutic boarding school in Eastern Utah.  Though I was scared to death, I jumped in and loved it.  I loved not only what I learned about myself, but also what I learned about others.  How behavior at this age can be altered for life long positive change.

This led me to work as a Residential Program Facilitator in a Salt Lake non-profit treatment center for woman with children.  This was night and day and much more sad with regard to success rates.  The adult population is not as eager for change and this I found discouraging.  However change takes time..... years sometimes, but it is possible.

What I love doing is advocacy.  I enjoy helping others that also help themselves or who don't have anyone who has time to help them.  This could be helping someone find a dentist who is economical.  Or this could mean someone needs an affordable repair shop, or clothing for an interview.  Maybe they need someone to help them write a resume or get an interview.  Whatever the issue may be I want to try and help.  I do not ask for anything, but if someone felt a donation was suffice I would gladly accept.

I do not know what my goal is with doing this, I just know that sometimes people need help.  As you ask or inquire about help I will surely try my best to help you find a solution.  My main focus is the northern Utah area, but I am not afraid to help someone elsewhere either.  I am open!

I will post helpful links I come across as often as I can which may be an answer to someone prayers.  Please feel free to contact me via comments on this post.  I look forward to helping others and seeing where this may lead.
